The popular coffee shop, newsstand and wine bar known as Fonville Press will host a free workshop for children to teach the fine art of flute-playing on Thursday, May 1st from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Led by composer, recording artist and “multi-instrumentalist” James Wisniewski of “wZ” (www.jimmiwz.com), the workshop will give children a chance to see instruments from all around the world. An Earth Day celebration that's free and open to the public is coming to Alys Beach on Saturday, April 19th. A seminar on green building will kick off the day's festivities. Fonville Press will house the event. The event will focus on green and sustainable building practices, something for which Alys Beach is well known. MORE

You can donate blood on Tuesday, April 15 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The Northwest Florida Blood Center will visit Scenic 30A that day to give people a chance to quickly and easily donate blood.
