Shayne Vaughan and Jaie O’Banner Continue Reputation of Excellence at Alys Beach

Alys Beach, Florida - (February 23, 2010) – Recently honored as one of the state's best new restaurants by Florida Trend magazine, Alys Beach's 'Caliza' announced that it has recruited two key talents. Australia-born Shayne Vaughan is Caliza's new Executive Chef and Jaie O’Banner is the restaurant's new General Manager. Caliza officially re-opens for the 2010 season on Wednesday, March 3.

Alys Beach is holding a sneak peek at Caliza Pool for locals and guests on Saturday, October 20, 2007. Along the the pool, visitors can see beautiful new homes as well as the new Resource Center. The Resource Center features interactive exhibits. Caliza Pool features a large saltwater pool, family pool, huge lap pool, spa whirlpool and outdoor living areas surrounded by tropical palms and gardens. MORE

A new casual dining experience is coming to Alys Beach in the form of an old building. The former home of Sandor's Restaurant has been lifted from its foundation in Seagrove and then trucked down Scenic 30A. On Friday, July 18, that building will be open as "George's at Alys Beach." MORE

The Caliza Restaurant is soon to open at Alys Beach. The new restaurant will offer guests and residents poolside dining and is part of a larger plan for a bustling Town Center. Alys Beach hopes to offer unique shops, restaurants and other amenities. But for now, all are invited to eat at Caliza Restaurant. MORE

This week Alys Beach welcomed another new eatery, "George's." The building is the former Seagrove restaurant, lifted off its foundation and moved 7 miles. "George's" will open later this summer. In the meantime, all are welcome to eat at “Piper’s,” a mobile cart located on the south side of Scenic 30A. There you can get hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, tortillas, ice cream bars, brownies and cold sodas. MORE

The building that was formerly home to Sandor’s Restaurant is moving to Alys Beach. Sandor's Restaurant was on County Road 395 in Seagrove. At Alys Beach it will serve as the location for a new restaurant called "George's at Alys Beach." The move is scheduled to happen in a few weeks. MORE

Now every Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. visitors and residents can eat lunch at Fonville Press. This will expand Fonville Press' repertoire beyond their usual coffee, fresh pastries, ice cream and unique books. It also adds another time to hang out there besides Friday night, when there's live entertainment and fine wine. The menu will change weekly but will always feature delicious foods. MORE

Today Alys Beach unveiled their new Resource Center. The center will serve as an interactive way to explore the founding vision of Alys Beach. It is also designed as a beautiful state-of-the-art cultural and educational exhibit. The exhibit will feature a self-guided tour that will highlight the differences between Alys Beach and other beach towns, such as the copious natural habitat and the fact that all Alys Beach homes are built to Florida Green Building Coalition standards.
