Chief Financial Officer

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Accounting and Information Technology functions of the organization, including but not limited to the following:
    • Real Estate Development
      • Home site Development
      • Commercial and Amenity Development
      • Condominiums/Town Center Buildings
      • Alys Beach Neighborhood Association and various condominium associations
    • Real Estate Sales and Marketing
      • Brokerage Office:  Sales of company-owned home sites, homes, resale homes, and resale home sites
      • Marketing and Public Relations
    • Homebuilding
      • Custom Program
      • Semi-custom Program
    • Resort Operations
      • All current and future amenities
        • 5 Star Service Level but with a comfortable casual nature
      • Rental Home Program
      • Maintenance and Housekeeping and Security
  • Ensure the credibility, efficiency and effectiveness of Alys Beach Team by providing timely and accurate financial reporting, record-keeping, analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts
  • Establish, document and manage processes for financial reporting, procedures, budgets, consolidation and reporting
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Serve as the key point of contact for all legal and insurance matters with International Headquarters and regional/local legal counsel
  • Provides leadership in the Development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Take a hands-on lead position of maintaining a comprehensive job cost system and other accounting software designed to maximize profit and efficiency

Job Requirements

  • BS in Accounting
  • 10+ years’ experience in a progressively responsible financial leadership role.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Property Management and/or Real Estate systems experience including Maestro PMS, Micros, Datavision, or SAGE 300
  • Prior high-end residential community experience preferred
  • MBA and/or CPA highly desirable
  • Self-motivated and customer service driven individual who approaches challenges with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Strong work ethic with a results oriented attitude
  • Well organized and self-directed
  • Displays a friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable manner and the ability to work with all types of people
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication proficiencies and presentation skills

Preferences

  • Experience in either the real estate development, hospitality, property management, and/ or construction industry highly preferred.
  • Computer skills to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint
