"As a Senior at South Walton High School last year, Kelsey saved her money from babysitting, while Mark earned his working at Alys Beach," said Colleen Duffley, owner of Studio B. "Together, they've travelled across such countries as India, Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Their inspirational story is precisely the sort of achievement that Studio B aspires to celebrate and share with others."
Mark and Kelsey will return to the United States on December 21st, after a four-month adventure that included bathing rescued elephants in the mountain jungles of Thailand, paragliding in the Himalayan peaks, sleeping with gibbons in a tree house in war-torn Laos, playing with school children in a remote Indian village, and even walking barefoot through an ancient temple overrun with thousands of sacred mice.
"Many of us only dream of doing such things, but here are two young people who worked hard, earned 100 percent of the money themselves, and made their dream a reality," said Duffley. "We want to know why they did it, how they did it, and what they're planning to do next."
The "Our Asian Adventure" welcome home party will be held at Studio B in Alys Beach on Tuesday, December 29th from 7pm to 9pm. Mark and Kelsey will share their photos and stories, as well as answer questions. The casual reception is free and open to the public, although guests are asked to bring a six-pack of their favorite international beer to share with other guests. To help event organizers plan appropriately, please RSVP before Sunday, December 27th by emailing RSVP@ourasianadventure.com or by calling Studio B at (214) 415-0476.
