Our Alys Beach onsite management team is out this morning canvasing the town and assessing any storm impacts. Fortunately, we experienced very little severe weather from Hurricane Helene, which made landfall just after 11 pm last night east of us in the Big Bend area of Northwest Florida. Our thoughts and prayers are with the many millions of people who who have been affected by the Category 4 storm.  The impacts are being felt far and wide as the sun rises and they begin to assess damages.  We are heartbroken for our neighbors to the east.

We commend our Alys Beach team for rapidly and thoroughly preparing the town over the last several days. Amenities and outlets, program homes and specially requested residences, construction sites, common areas, and offices were secured efficiently by Wednesday afternoon, and our Merchants of Alys Beach responded rapidly to secure restaurant and retail spaces.  Everyone was able to spend time safely and securely with their families at home.

We will begin resetting our amenities with an anticipated reopening for tomorrow morning, business as usual.  Many of our merchants will reopen today, so please check their social media pages for their latest updates.

Thursday, September 26, 2024:

Hurricane Helene, now a major hurricane, has continued to intensify over the Gulf, maintaining the anticipated easterly curve. Landfall is expected this evening (Thursday, 9/26) and the impact will be significant for our neighbors to the east in Florida's Big Bend. For Alys Beach and Walton County, high winds including tropical storm force gusts and heavy rains are projected to be the main threat overnight. We encourage our community to remain informed via such sources as the National Hurricane Center and our Walton County Emergency Management.    We commend our Alys Beach team for rapidly and thoroughly preparing the town for the impending severe weather conditions. Amenities and outlets, program homes and specially requested residences, construction sites, common areas, and offices were secured efficiently by Wednesday afternoon, and our Merchants of Alys Beach responded rapidly to secure restaurant and retail spaces. Wednesday September 25, 2024

Our Alys Beach team has been preparing the community for heavy rains and winds securing residences, construction sites, amenities, offices, merchants and public spaces in anticipation of Hurricane Helene. Although predicted to make landfall to the east of us, we can expect some impact at Tropical Storm levels.

All Alys Beach amenities including ZUMA Wellness Center and Racquets Facility, Caliza Restaurant and Pool, the Beach Club and Beach Services and Recreation, as well as the Alys Shoppe Pop-up and NEAT Bottle Shop and Tasting Room will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We will determine the reopening of amenity and outlet operations for the weekend once we have had a chance to survey impacts following the storm. Our employees safety is our utmost concern so we will only begin assessing damages once we feel it is safe for our team members to travel.

Most Alys Beach merchants in our Town Center will be open for business today, Wednesday, until it becomes unsafe for their employees to travel and will then remain closed through Thursday. We will assess any impact on their operations post-impact and will make a call then whether they will open on Friday (although it may be limited hours/services). We encourage you to check their social pages and website for their own updates, although we will try to keep this page updated with as much current information as we receive it.

Alys Beach residents, please reference your homeowner app or your Alys Beach Owner Updates email for the latest updates pertaining to specific homeowner interests.

Our thoughts continue to be with our neighbors to the east.
