30A Wine Festival Style Guide

Sixteenth Edition MERCHANTS OF ALYS BEACH
30A Wine Festival Style Guide
Look to Alys Shoppe and Barefoot Princess for your Wine Fest Wardrobe

As Alys Beach readies for the 10th Annual 30A Wine Festival events scheduled for late February, some wardrobe planning might begin to transpire. To help you plan your attire for a few of the main festival events, we’ve put together a few ideas for our female attendees collected from our signature store, the Alys Shoppe, and from our newest Merchants of Alys Beach member, Barefoot Princess.

Friday’s Bourbon, Beer & Butts event is perhaps the most casual and comfortable of Wine Festival events, but no less stylish. Felt wool hats reign supreme alongside jeans, sweaters, and thoughtful accents. This Alys Shoppe outfit for the Friday evening event we love to call “B3” is for the brave – AG white Farrah ankle jeans, Johnathan Simkhai fitted camel sweater top, Hilo Sagrado burgundy tassel bag, and grey felt Giovannio hat.

The centerpiece of the festival, Grand Tasting, takes place on a Saturday afternoon along South Charles Street, where the sunshine and Gulf breezes are framed by the beautiful homes, leading south to Gulf Green and the Gulf of Mexico. Grand Tasting is an elevated event, and attire is both elegant and comfortable for the strolling footprint, and the theme this year is coastal, nautical and modern, taking inspiration from an Alys Beach interior, such as that seen in MAST. A flowing dress or festive blouse for the ladies, and men’s attire ranges from a casual quarter-zip or sweater to full dapper in a festive suit or sports coat. We’ve pulled two maxi dresses for inspiration: 1. From the Alys Shoppe, an emerald green stunner by Alexis from the Alys Shoppe, accessorized with a Paula Torres espadrille flatform sandal, Marian Paquette bag, and Elegancia Tropical Hats classic straw Panama hat tied with CB Grey’s festive, champagne-themed Carson Silk Mini scarf. 2. From Barefoot Princess, a vibrant and elegant Lilly Pulitzer high-low Montague Maxi Wrap Dress pairs with gold Lilly Pulitzer Gigi Wedge shoe, gold Lilly Pulitzer Cruisin’ Crossbody shown as a clutch, and soft blue Helen Kaminski woven wide brim hat.

For the finale event, Rosé & Croquet, attire may differ between players and spectators, but white is paramount, and the theme this year is garden party. Again, we’ve put together two women’s options from our Town Center boutiques. First, we have spectator’s options with a classic yet modern midi skirt and top set in Forest Toile from Cara Cara from the Alys Shoppe, and from Barefoot Princess we have an intricate lace Lilly Pulitzer top paired with Lilly Pulitzer white skinny jeans and a Helen Kaminski fringed straw handbag. For our players, women can find this Peter Millar set and tennis shoes at Barefoot Princess, along with the coordinating Lilly Pulitzer baseball cap, and men can find an array of Alys Beach logo apparel and Peter Millar separates at the Alys Shoppe. Share the game with your little ones at home, too, with a precious Plan Toys croquet set for children available at the Alys Shoppe.

Whether you have an idea of what your 30A Wine Festival wardrobe needs are, or need assistance with your selections, our incredible Alys Shoppe team is ready to help you navigate accessories and attire for each of the festival events! And if you’re in the area for Wine Fest, be sure to stop into Barefoot Princess for Lilly Pulitzer women and girls, Peter Millar women, Julie Vos Jewelry, and other refined designs in their collection. Join the Barefoot Princess team in celebrating its Alys Beach location’s Grand Opening during the festival on Friday, February 25.
