1,400+ Attend Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach

With 1,400 awed spectators in attendance Saturday night, style icon India Hicks announced the winners of the 2009 Digital Graffiti Festival at Alys Beach.

This year, Alys Beach received entries from artists all over the world, including France, Thailand, Belgium, India, Italy, Australia, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, England, Austria, Ireland and others.

Congratulations again to all of the Finalists that were selected for projection and presentation during last night’s amazing event.

We would like to thank our panel of industry and celebrity judges (see photo), who had the very difficult task of selecting this year’s winners… truly from a world of talent. And now, here are the 2009 winners...

The $1,000 prize for Best Local Submission is sponsored by 30A.com and is awarded to:

“Shine of the Ever” by Bryan Beasley of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida

The $1,000 prize for Best Environmental Theme is sponsored by EBSCO and is awarded to:

“The Astronaut” by Mario Chejab of London, United Kingdom

The $1,000 prize for Most Innovative Submission is sponsored by EBSCO and is awarded to:

“Bioform” by Matthew West of New Brunswick, New Jersey

The $1,000 prize for Audience Favorite is sponsored by 30A.com and was determined by text votes submitted by festival attendees throughout the evening. And the winner is:

“JD’s Fun House” by John Daniel of Panama City, Florida

Finally, we are very proud to announce this year’s $2,000 Best of Show award, sponsored by The Florida Governor’s Office of Film & Entertainment. Last year’s “Best of Show” honor was awarded to Robert Seidel of Jena, Germany for his work entitled, “Futures.”

And the winner of the 2009 Digital Graffiti Best of Show award is:

“Lure of Sirens” by Lustre of Venice, California
