Retail Manager/ Alys Shoppe

Alys Shoppe is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Store Manager to join our team. They will represent Alys Beach at all times by owning the customer experience and providing a superior level of service to homeowners, guests and visitors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day to day store operations; assign tasks based on sales associates’ skills, availability, and current store needs; identify additional recovery needs; ensure proper cash handling; respond immediately to store, customer, and employee issues, appropriately partner with Director of Retail
  • Create standards to optimize merchandise presentation and customize merchandise selection; train sales associates on merchandising guidelines
  • Provide training to sales team on all products and services, enthusiastically model selling behavior, share technical knowledge, and provide ways to connect our guests with our products
  • Manage client development to capture guest information and preferences to allow for greater levels of personalized service
  • Create a monthly schedule for appropriate sales floor coverage, adjusting as necessary to meet the needs of the business
  • Ensure purchase orders are entered into the inventory system in a timely manner
  • Manage process for receiving shipments to ensure accuracy
  • Coach and counsel sale associates on performance issues in partnership with Director of Retail
  • Prevent shrink by training and enforcing loss prevention procedures
  • Responsible for setting par levels and communicating all merchandise needs or issues to Director of Retail
  • Responsible for stockroom organization and the accurate and timely processing of all merchandise received
  • Perform monthly inventory counts as assigned by Director of Retail
  • Follow markdown process to ensure the reduction of aged merchandise
  • Represent Alys Beach at all times by owning the customer experience and providing a superior level of service to homeowners, guests, and visitors
  • Whenever possible, acknowledge guests by name upon arrival
  • Engage guest throughout transaction; inquire about their stay and follow up with any requests, questions, or concerns
  • Proactively seek opportunities to up-sell and add-on additional merchandise, further enhancing the guest’s shopping experience
  • Accurately and efficiently facilitate guests’ purchase and return transactions
  • Perform all functions relating to the handling of merchandise or cash in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional work environment
  • Exude high energy and enthusiasm
  • Respond to other necessary functions as needed in support of the business
  • Attend departmental meetings, as needed, for the team

Job Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Five years of retail/merchandising experience in management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work days, weekends, and evenings, as required
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work a longer than normal (8 hour) workday, if required
